English Teachers needed for Immigrants and Refugee

Project Description:
NICE is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to teach adult literacy classes to non-English speakers. Due to the large immigrant and refugee population in Nashville, our classes are overflowing with students and we are in need of more teachers to accomodate all of our clients. NICE offers six levels of English classes, literacy through Level 4, and all classes work to improve students reading, writing,and speaking skills within the english language. ***A weekly commitment of approximately three hours per week for a period of six months is required. ESL certification and prior teaching experience is not required; however, certification and prior experience is a great plus! Proficiency in a foreign language is not required, but a great plus as well. Those who have a passion for helping others and would like to make a lasting impact on someone's life are welcome to apply. Volunteers can observe some of our veteran teachers before beginning.
