AmeriCorps*VISTA Member

Project Description:
Project Start/End Dates: 2/15/13-02/14/14 Cornerstone Assistance Network wants to place an AmeriCorps*VISTA member at The Ladder Alliance organization. At The Ladder Alliance, you will help end the poverty cycle for women. Duties will include developing marketing plans and connecting with local non-profits. The VISTA’s goal will be to help expand the overall program to help more low-income women develop job skills. The member will provide support that is currently lacking, including developing relationships with referring agencies and utilizing social media to market to donors and to stay connected with graduates. The member will represent The Ladder Alliance at job fairs and other events to recruit students. The member will also market the program to local agencies and help improve communications with current referring agencies. The member will develop a social media presence for The Ladder Alliance to keep graduates and students connected to the organization. Staying linked to graduates is important so that program impact can be monitored and measured long-term. An alumni organization will be created by graduates to find jobs and provide advanced training. The VISTA member will be charged with assisting this group. Because The Ladder Alliance is a small non-profit, the VISTA will have the opportunity to work hands on with prospective, current and past women students to help them become self-sufficient and independent. Success stories are common at The Ladder Alliance and the VISTA will experience firsthand how excited the students and families are as they move towards self-sufficiency. Working at The Ladder Alliance will also allow the VISTA to work with seasoned non-profit professionals and to meet others at partner organizations. Benefits: Childcare assistance if eligible, Choice of Education Award or End-of-Service Stipend upon successful service completion, Health Coverage, Living & Relocation Allowance, Training Application Deadlin
