JA In-School Volunteer
Project Description:

JA’s In-School programs include age-appropriate, sequential themes for kindergarten through twelfth-grade students. Students learn the basic concepts of business and economics and how education is relevant to the workplace. Volunteers from the community make weekly visits to local schools to present short lessons and lead hand on activities for elementary, middle or high school students. All materials are provided by JA and all of the volunteers are trained by JA staff before they make weekly visits to local classrooms to share their professional knowledge, and help to prepare students for lifelong learning.
Time Commitment:
Training – approximately 1 hour (available at your facility)
Actual program takes place at the school
45 minutes per week for 5-8 weeks (based on grade level)
